Ignited Teaching is built directly around Ontario curriculum expectations, making it one of the most comprehensively aligned programs available to Ontario teachers in grades 3–6. Lesson plans, units, and assessments reference Ontario strands and expectations throughout.
BC’s competency-based curriculum emphasizes inquiry, critical thinking, and student-centred learning — all core principles of the Ignited Teaching model. The structured literacy, spiral math, and inquiry-based science and social studies programs align strongly with BC’s curricular competencies and content standards for grades 3–6.
Ignited Teaching aligns with Alberta’s current mandatory curricula in ELA and Mathematics, and with the existing science and social studies programs. Alberta’s curriculum is currently undergoing significant renewal — teachers using Ignited Teaching can continue to rely on the program for strong instructional structure while staying informed about provincial updates.
Saskatchewan’s outcome-based curriculum model emphasizes inquiry, collaborative learning, and cross-curricular connections — all of which are central to the Ignited Teaching approach. The structured routines and inquiry-based units in the Ignited programs support Saskatchewan teachers in meeting grade-level outcomes effectively.
Manitoba’s curriculum framework emphasizes literacy across all subject areas, active learning, and differentiation for diverse learners — all priorities that the Ignited Teaching programs are specifically designed to support. Manitoba teachers in grades 3–6 will find the structured lesson formats and centre rotation model particularly well suited to their classroom expectations.
Québec’s English schools follow the Québec Education Program (QEP), which is organized into three cycles at the elementary level. Grades 3 and 4 correspond to Cycle 2, and Grades 5 and 6 to Cycle 3. The QEP’s competency-based approach — emphasizing reading, writing, mathematical reasoning, and inquiry — aligns well with the Ignited Teaching instructional model. English-language schools in Québec can use Ignited Teaching programs as a strong framework for delivering QEP outcomes.
New Brunswick’s curriculum is built on the Atlantic Canada frameworks for literacy, mathematics, and science — shared frameworks that emphasize deep understanding, inquiry, and communication skills. Ignited Teaching’s integrated approach to literacy and its inquiry-based science and social studies units align well with the outcomes New Brunswick teachers are working toward.
Nova Scotia is currently renewing its curriculum to emphasize essential competencies, flexible learning, and student-centred instruction — all of which align with the Ignited Teaching model. The program’s structured literacy routines and inquiry-based units position Nova Scotia teachers well for both current expectations and the direction of curriculum renewal.
PEI follows the Atlantic Canada curriculum frameworks for mathematics and science, and shares core literacy and social studies outcomes with the other Atlantic provinces. Ignited Teaching’s cohesive program structure gives PEI teachers a reliable system for planning and delivering instruction across all four subject areas at the grades 3–6 level.
Newfoundland & Labrador’s outcome-based curriculum prioritizes communication, inquiry, and critical thinking across all subject areas. The structured literacy blocks, math centres, and inquiry-based lessons in the Ignited Teaching programs provide NL teachers with a complete, ready-to-use system that supports these curriculum priorities in grades 3–6.
